Where can I get cheaper internet?

I live in San Diego, CA and I currently have cox internet. They keep raising their price (it's now $50) and I wanted to find something cheaper. I don't want dial-up cause I don't want it to tie up the phone line. Does anyone know of a cheaper service? (It doesn't have to be the fastest)
